The Boros Legion is one of the ten guilds that hold power in Ravnica, an ecumenopolis covering the entire surface of its planet. Each guild represents a combination of two of Magic's five colors; Boros combines white and red. The guild is associated with the Radiance ability word, which affects every permanent that shares a color with the target permanent. When played on multicolored cards, the effect spreads to all that card's colors. In the Ravnica block, Boros was emphasized in the first set, *Ravnica: City of Guilds*. In the storyline, the Boros Legion's Wojek officer Agrus Kos is a main character in the novel *Ravnica* by Cory J. Herndon. The skies above the dark undercity are policed by Boros angels, while the undercity itself is the domain of the Devkarin elves. The Selesnya Conclave keeps passageways clear with the Ledev, a group of paramilitary soldiers who defend the right of free travel. Fonn Zurich, daughter of a Wojek officer, joined the Selesnya Conclave after her father's death and became an elite Ledev. In the novel, an explosion tears through the city, killing Fonn's priest friend and flinging her into the arms of Jarad, brother of the Devkarin leader Savra.

Agrus Kos, a Wojek officer in the Boros Legion, is a main character in the novel *Ravnica* by Cory J. Herndon. As the decamillennial celebrations approach, tensions between the guilds reach a breaking point. The still-active House Dimir never agreed to the Guildpact, and along with the Golgari Swarm, they almost destroy the core of Selesnyan civilization. Kos works alongside Feather, a Firemane angel, and other characters including Fonn Zurich, Jarad, Pivlic, and Savra. They all come together as chaos ensues. Savra tries to take over her guild and resurrect the necromancer Svogthir, throwing all the characters into a huge war. The skies above the dark undercity are policed by Boros angels, while the undercity is the domain of the Devkarin elves. Fonn, an elite Ledev, guards her priest friend while he travels to the decamillennial celebrations, but an explosion tears through the city, kills him, flings Fonn into Jarad's arms, and causes a lot of trouble for Kos.
